Aurora Art Walk

This past Friday was the 5th Aurora Art Walk and the first time that I participated in it. Let me tell you it was a blast. My section alone had almost 300 visitors in the 4 hours that we were open to the public.
The show would not have been a success if it wasn't for the help of some very special people. Hats off to my incredible wife Tara for her daily push to keep me going and to allow me the freedom to explore my art and to my Dad for helping me set up for the show.

Wrapping Up the latest project!

I know it has been a while since I last blogged. And for good reason. This past week I have been editing down images for my current project - The Abandonment of Manufacturing. I have been going into old machine shops, repair shops, factories that were once places of employment and are now empty, or so it would seem. One location, a locomotive repair shop along the BNSF line still contained large machinery, a folk lift and two locomotives in a incomplete state of repair. Tools and parts were strung about. Puddles of water with oil on the surface created beautiful reflections of the broken windows and holes torn in the roof. Graffiti painted walls added a definition of color that was amazing.

I present the project officially on May 10, 2011 so look for a new gallery added to the site shortly after that.

Take care and keep creating!

A new photographic trek!

Hi all. Here I am in Seattle out exploring with the camera. Hopefully I will find at least one to take home from this trip. For the benefit of those that don't know, I have a personal motto to work for it. That means there is masking tape over the screen. No previewing here. Get it in the frame of the eye piece. Why you might ask. Because you need to know what it is you are photographing. Sure the beautiful 'accidents' are great to have, but I need that to be the exception and not the norm.
So far I have been to the Public Market, Seattle Center, EBM, Pioneer Square, and the Underground.

So watch for more to come. As soon as I am done, I will share them with you.
