Enjoying the Ride

It’s been awhile since my last blog, only because this summer has turned into one crazy ride!

On June 25th, I participated in the Relay for Life walk for the American Cancer Society. As a cancer survivor, I was honored and privileged to take part in this amazing opportunity to show support and give back to this wonderful organization. They helped me better understand this disease and gave me a refuge while going through this dramatic period in my life.

As an artist, I now have the opportunity to give back, by donating a portion of proceeds from my upcoming show at Limestone Coffee & Tea in Batavia to the American Cancer Society.

I am currently preparing for my gallery debut at Limestone. I’ve been busy carefully selecting and framing all the photos that will be highlighted throughout the month of August. Thanks to all my mentors for helping me with supplies, and a special thank you to my PR gal at Lotus Blu Media, who has been busy promoting the hell out of me!

And I’m happy to announce that my show will continue on in the month of September, this time in beautiful Galena, Illinois. Jamie Carrol of Jamie’s Wine Bar is graciously hosting a showing of my work, with a special meet-n-greet on September 18th. If you happen to be in town that weekend, stop by!

One Exciting Summer

Well, it’s official! My first private show will be the entire month of August at Limestone Coffee & Tea in Batavia. I am honored and delighted to be featured at this hot spot and would like to personally thank the owner, Maureen Mares, for this amazing opportunity.

I will be having a special debut party for all my friends and family one night in August, details to follow soon. If you can come out, I’d love to see you and share the stories behind my work.

I’m currently on summer break from school and am looking for more projects to fill up my schedule. If you have any thoughts or ideas on how we can help each other, contact me to discuss. This will help me build my portfolio, as well as give you some great photos that will last a lifetime.

Things are Blooming

I’m very excited about a few upcoming events already scheduled. On April 17th, I have a photo shoot scheduled with 2 amazing models I’ve worked with in the past. I’m hoping to capture some remarkable shots while the girls utilize the beautiful scenery at The Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. I am very interested in expanding my portraiture work. As a photographer, I appreciate the art of capturing moments and emotions in the raw, without the manipulation of altering it through Photoshop. I’m very excited about this shoot and look forward to sharing the results on my website.

I also learned that my PR gal at Lotus Blu Media booked me my first official show at Limestone Coffee & Tea in Batavia. My photos will be featured throughout the coffee house the entire month of July. Details are in the works, but I’m hearing something about having a premiere party for all my close friends and family to celebrate this momentous occasion. Of course I’ll be blogging details as soon as things are decided.

I also received a phone call from a dear friend of mine who just recently got engaged. I am honored that he and his beautiful fiancĂ©e’ have asked me to be the official photographer for their special day. Of course I said yes! Nothing would please me more than giving them the gift of beautiful photographs that will last a lifetime.

With so many exciting events happening, please check back often.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD AS SEEN THROUGH MY EYES

"My style is whatever interests me at the moment. Nothing isn't worth looking at long enough to truly see what is within the image. To capture it is my way of sharing the world through my eyes."

Welcome to my blog, a place where I’ll be documenting my daily thoughts and every day escapades as a photographer.

As a life-long observer of beauty, I now use my skilled eye to offer my clients a vision slightly left-of-center by turning the ordinary into extraordinary. I pride myself on perfecting the art of taking a simple subject and pulling out so much more within the image. Because nothing is truly as is seems.

As a visionary, I use my years of traveling in our beautiful country and abroad to culminate my style. From the landscapes of Germany, the tranquility of Shanghi to the rich canyons of Arizona, nothing is forsaken. Even the simple pleasure of looking into my children’s eyes is influential.

A proud native of Chicago, I earned my Associates of Science degree from Waubonsee Community College, all while working full time as a project manager for Tripplite. After years of focusing on the analytical end of business, I decided to feed my creative needs by returning to school to earn an Associates in Photography. In my short career, I’m proud to say my work has quickly gained the attention of other professionals in the field, most recently earning an Award of Merit from SkyWay for my portrait titled “No Time To Stop”.

I hope you will join me as I continue to look beyond imagination, slightly left of center...and always Within The Image.
